Fujitsu LifeBook T2010

Los sub-notebooks de gran autonomía están de moda y el Toshiba Dynabook (el mismo del que les contamos que tiene una MoBo muy ligera, sus especificaciones aquí) no es el único competidor en el mercado, porque a él (y tantos otros) hoy se suma un nuevo modelo de un viejo conocido en el Rubro, se trata del Fujitsu Lifebook T2010 que vendría siendo como una mezcla entre sub-notebook y Tablet-PC, que para variar tendrá su debut en el mercado Coreano.
En cuanto a especificaciones se refiere, tiene una pantalla táctil apaisada (de aspecto ancho 16:9), una memoria de corto plazo (RAM) con un 1GB de fábrica debiese bastar y para no quedarse cortos en cuanto a memoria ( de largo plazo) incorpora un disco duro de 120GB. Pero como la capacidad no lo es todo y la velocidad también es importante, la interfaz de éste es SATA.
Su autonomía bordea las 12 horas utilizando la batería extendida (y de 19 horas utilizando ambas) lo que lo vuelve ideal para quienes trabajan en ambientes sin redes eléctricas o se mueven mucho.
Veamos… una gran pantalla, RAM aceptable, Disco duro genial, gran autonomía… Nos queda el procesador, un Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 de la familia Santa Rosa, en las versiones de bajo consumo, será el encargado de proporcionar la potencia de cálculo para nuestras aplicaciones. ¿Su precio?, unos módicos US$2.120 (1.113.300 CLP 1.556,1 € 23.490 MXN).

Fujitsu Lifebook P1610

Ultraportable notebooks used to be the preserve of rich kids who would let them casually tumble out of their man-bags, while they pretended to talk on their gold-plated phones. But now, more people can afford a Dolce & Gabana RAZR and, due to falling prices, ultraportables too are now within our grasp. While you can still get flashy gadgets such as the ASUS S6 and the Sony UX17, the Fujitsu P1610 is the mullet of the portables world: Business in the front, party in the back. But that's not to say it's unfashionable: It comes in an understated black and gun-metal box, and is almost "cute".

DesignAs you'd expect, the Fujitsu P1610 is incredibly tiny, and one of the smallest tablets we've ever seen. Though it may look somewhat like a toy, it certainly isn't. It's built fairly sturdily, and the hinge--very important on a tablet--is rugged and will take a little abuse. It is an update from last year's P1510, and includes some updates including a higher screen resolution (1,280 x 768 vs. 1,024 x 600) and a shift to a Core Solo processor from a Pentium M.

The screen is an 8.9-inch indoor/outdoor model which, while missing out on some of the glitz of full-sized notebooks, is perfectly readable--if a little "grainy". When swiveling the display into tablet mode, the screen orients itself automatically based on the way you're holding it.

FeaturesSmaller dimensions mean less powerful parts, and the Fujitsu runs an Intel U1400 at 1.2GHz with 512MB of RAM. The hard drive is an 80GB 4,200rpm Toshiba which has been partitioned into two drives. Connectivity includes two USB ports, 802.11 a/b/g adapter, an SD card reader, PCMCIA, modem and Ethernet. The specs page lists it as "Windows Vista capable", and it just fits the bill, if you don't want to run Aero, that is. To be capable you need only run an 800Mhz processor and 512MB of RAM, but we'd always suggest 1GB to ensure a smooth experience.

Fujitsu Lifebook E8410

The midsize Fujitsu LifeBook E8410 is by no means flashy, but the laptop has a lot to offer business users, starting with a thorough feature set that includes nearly every port and connection a business user could need, plus serious data security that includes a smart card reader and a Trusted Platform Module. When it comes to performance, the LifeBook E8410 matches that of comparable systems from Gateway and Lenovo, with one exception: our review unit's 1GB of RAM held it back on our Photoshop CS2 test (an upgrade to 2GB would cost $130 if you buy it from Fujitsu). Pricewise, the $1,849 LifeBook E8410 costs about $70 more than a similarly configured Lenovo ThinkPad T61--though the latter lacks some ports and makes you choose between a smart card reader and an ExpressCard slot. And buyers who don't need such a robust feature set can save even more money with the Lenovo 3000 N200. But corporations that need enterprise-level features and security would do well to consider the fully stocked Fujitsu LifeBook E8410.

The LifeBook E8410 is all business black on the outside, but opening the notebook reveals a silvery-white interior. With a magnesium lid, steel hinges, spill-resistant keyboard, and shock-mounted hard drive, the LifeBook E8410 seems solid enough to handle the knocks and bumps of everyday business life. Though its case size is very similar to Fujitsu's consumer-oriented LifeBook A6030, the LifeBook E8410 weighs a few tenths of an ounce less than its sibling and is among the lightest midsize laptops we've seen.
